About
![]() Thanks for visiting Conker Photography. All of the photographs on this site are taken by Mark Nuttall of Sheffield, England. The name Conker Photography comes from a childhood love of the game of 'conkers'. Plus it sounds a little less boring than Mark Nuttall Photography. Many of the photographs on this site are taken in the countryside surrounding my home. With the Peak District on my doorstep there is something worth photographing at every time of the year. I enjoy and am frustrated in equal measure by the unpredictability of the British climate when pursuing new photographs. Early winter mornings on an exposed rocky outcrop can feel like madness when the sun never breaks through - but it also makes it all the more special when everything comes together and you get just the light you were hoping for. A few of my favourite locations are Stanage Edge, Higger Tor and – further afield – the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. As a general rule when photographing landscapes, the further away from human intervention I am the more I enjoy the work. The solitude gives me a greater appreciation of my surroundings and an escape from the trappings of modern life. In more recent years I have developed an interest in photographing people as well as landscapes. In contrast to the solitude I enjoy when photographing landscapes, I find portrait photography to be a rewarding social experience. The right shot can communicate so much of a person’s personality or mood, and trying to bring that out is a challenge that I always enjoy. If you have a question about a particular photo then please feel free to get in contact. I am also available for landscape and portrait commissions. Should you be interested in commissioning me for some work, please get in touch to discuss your requirements. Thank you again for visiting, and I hope you enjoy looking around the site. |
